Constant Load Synchronizer

Constant load synchronizer rings: Different load may be applied by different operators. Regardless of different loads, it is believed that constant loads are applied to the cone. Such rings are referred to Single Type Synchronizer Rings.

Multicone Synchronizer

Multi-cone Synchronizer: This type of synchronizers consist of two or more cones, thus increasing the contact areas. With such an approach, operating force of operators and the unit pressure of the cones are reduced, resulting in improvement of the wear resistance of the part. The synchronizer rings described are mainly used for high-powered and high performance vehicles.(for example: Double or Triple Type Synchronizer rings)

Servo Synchronizer

Servo Synchronizer : This type of synchronizer rings have been developed by Mercedes Bens of Germany. It utilizes self Apply Principle by the use of Expending Band. This design has an advantage of rapid shifting of transmission with relatively low force by operators but it also has a disadvantage of high wear.

Pin Loading Synchronizer

Pin Loading Synchronizer: This type is mainly used in large vehicles such as trucks. This design utilizes pins instead of gears. It has an advantage of accommodating high load but it also disadvantage of high wear on pins and pin-holes.
